Contrary to popular belief, there are at least a few good things to come out of Texas. One of those things is the chimichanga. The other is Pat Green and his self-described brand of "baseball cap country." Green was born in San Antonio, but was raised in Waco.
Texas Tech is coming to Oxford Saturday, and they're bringing a little more than just "steers and queers" with them. Apparently, there isn't much to do in West Texas, but they love their football. They aren't bad at playing the game either. The Red Raiders may be the fourth best team in the state, but this is still football in Texas.

If you haven't yet had a chance to see Kevin Costner's Open Range, pack 'em up and 'git. The title vaguely hints at the fact that this movie is a western, which is a relatively rare genre nowadays. This film manages to stir that stagnant water very well. Starring Costner, Annette Benning and the legendary Robert Duvall, as well as a host of recognizables, Open Range starts out with a great deal of talent at its disposal.
